Review: Out of the Gate by E.M Lynley

Blurb:
British actor Wesley Tremayne thinks he's close enough to hit the big time -a film career- with his role as a hunky explorer on a popular American TV show. Success should be just around the corner, as long as he keeps his sexual orientation a secret. Wes's best friend and beard, Julia Compton, forms the other half of a glamorous Hollywood couple that's merely a facade.

Evan Taylor left his acting career behind five years ago without looking back. He's always been more comfortable around horses than people - especially Hollywood types. His new life training race horses is a dream come true, but increasing financial problems and an abusive boyfriend have him doubting himself and his choices.

Then Wes and his friends buy a third-rate racehorse -partially for publicity- and send him to Evan's stable. Wes's friendship with Evan soon develops into an overpowering attraction he can't act on. He's never met a man like Evan, but if there's any chance for a future together, Wes must choose between a career he loves and the man he adores.

My Thoughts:
This is the first book that I have read by EM Lynley and I am honestly excited to read more. Once I started I could not stop, walking away for just a few minutes was difficult. Not only was the story captivating, but I learned a lot about horse racing and horses in general.

Wes is an actor that has stayed in the closet using his best friend Julia as a beard. Evan is an ex-actor that is now a horse trainer, but he is with the wrong man. Wes and Evan fight the connection between them, each denying the other. Both of the men believes the other has someone already but Wes's relationship is a facade while Evan's is one he seriously needs to get out of.

There was several things going on in this book, not just the relationship between Wes and Evan. We also encounter some illegal dealings, threatening phone calls, paparazzi, as well as hidden pasts. I think EM Lynley wove a fantastic story that is sure to suck readers in and hold them captive. I very highly recommend reading Out of the Gate you will not regret it!

**I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
